Missing Jewelry Appriasals (Post Loss)

An inability to physically examine your jewelry items does not prevent us from offering an opinion of the value based on a hypothetical description. With over 25 combined years of jewelry appraisal experience, we have established a reputation for providing an accurate value for lost or stolen items based on information supplied by the client and supported by photographs, receipts, old appraisals, and/or verbal description of the items.

We provide an estimate of monetary value given the description of the item and its apparent quality and condition depending on the client’s wishes and intended use.

When You Need a Hypothetical or Missing Jewelry Appraisal Report:

  • Jewelry is not appraised, but listed under homeowners policy, and is lost or stolen
  • Jewelry is lost or stolen without previous appraisal
  • Assist in post-loss insurance claims, police reports, or litigation

The appraisal process for lost or stolen items is similar to the appraisal process for items that are physically examined. The primary difference is the appraisal for lost, stolen or missing items is based on written, photographic, and verbal evidence.
