Your jewelry is professionally appraised to the industry’s highest standards. While we never require you to leave any items with us, if needed, jewelry can be kept in our secure office vault during large-quantity valuations or extended research at your request.
All jewelry is first thoroughly cleaned and examined. Depending on the items being appraised and intended purposes, our expert gemologists will follow these steps to appraise jewelry and provide accurate documentation:
- All diamonds are measured and assigned an estimated weight as well as color, clarity, and cut grades
- Diamonds over 1 carat will have a plot diagram provided in order to help you identify your stone’s unique characteristics
- Gemstones are identified, graded, measured and assigned an estimated weight
- Pearls are identified, measured, counted, and graded
- Watches are described by brand, model and serial number in addition to materials, movement, appearance, and unique characteristics
- Items are photographed and photos are included in the appraisal report for your reference
- GIA grading systems will be attached for further reference
- Definitions of value and other information, such as the intended use of the report, are included to ensure clarity and accuracy
